Battlefield 1 Setting Was Originally Rejected In Fear Of Younger Players Not Knowing World War 1
With nearly first person shooter games coming with a modern or futuristic setting, the revealed of the Battleground one setting was indeed welcome. Things, nonetheless, could have been unlike, as publisher EA revealed that they originally rejected the Battleground 1 World War 1 setting. A few hours agone, EA CEO Patrick Soderlund has further elaborated on the original rejection.
Patrick Soderlund revealed during the Bank of America Merrill Lynch 2022 Global Technology Conference that the contend surrounding Battlefield 1 World State of war 1 setting was also due to the fear of younger fans not knowing well-nigh World War one. Their fear, yet, has proven to be unfounded, judging by how much fans of the serial loved last month's reveal.
"Globe State of war 1, we were worried that many of the younger consumers out there didn't know that there was a World War two or Vietnam, so World War ane..."
Patrick Soderlund too elaborated further on how they changed their minds after learning that World War 1 was more than than only trench warfare, with the technology shift which happened during the state of war providing a lot of interesting opportunities.
"I call up what people don't understand well-nigh World War 1 is the applied science shift that went on during the war. People started the war on horseback and ended the war with airplanes and tanks and battleships and submarines. And that'south a huge opportunity for us to be able to practise a video game around."
Battleground ane launches on October 21st in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with EA and Origin Access subscribers able to get access to the game a few days before, from October 18th. More on Battlefield will be coming in the next few days, cheers to a livestream showcasing a 64-players multiplayer friction match, so stay tuned for all the latest news on the highly predictable new entry of the Battlefield series.
